6 Reasons WorldVentures is A Scam

Multi Level Marketing have always been associated with scams and pyramid schemes.
The problem is there's a fine thin line between a scam and a proper MLM.

How to identify a proper MLM? It's actually tougher to identify a proper MLM, but easier to identity a SCAM MLM. I call it the SCAMALAM.

The most well established MLM is Amway. So, any companies which follows Amway multi level marketing model would most likely are legitimate.

SCAMALAM - A scam which is camouflaged as  multi level marketing.

When I first discovered WorldVenture and Dreamtrips, I was sceptical when I heard it's using Binary system to build it's network. But, was somehow convinced that it might not be a scam and joined it as the product is unique and beneficial. I joined in Malaysia. It is the only company where the product is a "Travel Club Membership".

Until, a few red flags appeared. I realized it's going to be the biggest scam ever existed. The mastermind would be reaping Billions of Dollar when the system collapse.

So, why is it a scam? Here's why:

#6. The lowest price in the market claim.
Rovia, a business to business (B2B) travel search engine, which is owned by WorldVentures, promises the cheapest price for hotels and flights. If you find anything cheaper outside, they promise a money back guarantee of 150% of the price difference. They call this the Rovia Price Pledge.

Here's is the problem. First, almost all the prices are more expensive than other website, such as Agoda.com. Here's a search done today for Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.

Agoda is cheaper by USD 7.27.

So, when I asked this to my up-lines why they are more expensive, they said that because of their guarantee of 150%, no matter what, it would be cheaper. That's the silliest reason to join, unless blinded by money potential (greed). According to my uplines, it takes time for their system to get update and to reflect the lowest price. If people understand technology, that is never a reason. A red flag indeed.

Their signature product, Dreamtrips Platinum tour package, claimed as the cheapest package with special perks, but they are not cheapest at all. If you find an exact apple to apple package with cheaper price on the exact same date, they'll give 100% money back and you can travel for free. The keyword here is "Apple to Apple", even a small little difference will disqualify, even if the price is significantly cheaper. It's not easy to find exact apple to them. The so called amazingly cheap Dreamtrips package only happens once in blue moon. The prices you see on the Dreatrips Platinum packages, you need to multiply it by 2, because that price is for 1 person and you must go in pair.

#5. Their members and uplines doesn't really know, "How to...?"
When I asked, how do I claim the 150%, my upline gave an email address (asiasupport@worldventures.com) to send the claim. But, that's not the correct email. I received an email from them saying that I should send it to another email, pricepledge@rovia.com. So, I sent to this new email. There was an auto-reply from them saying that they stop processing all the claims since they implemented online claim form. Why the uplines are so misinformed? There are few other instances where it is difficult to find proper information directly from WorldVentures, including the payout structures. This is not good. I'm not sure about other countries, but this is the case in Malaysia. I still have many things unclear about the business. A proper MLM should be able to give you all the answers easily.

#4. Their "Why WorldVenture is not Scam" is full of fallacies.

Fallacy No.1: They are not scam because they have existed since 2005, that's 10 years.
10 years is still too early to tell if it's a scam or not. Madoff scam started in 1992 all the way until 2008. That's 16 years.

Fallacy No.2: They are not scam because they started in United States of America and many European countries, more than 26 countries.
Number of countries doesn't tell if it's legitimate or not. Just because it started in USA and any other country doesn't mean it's legit. Madoff scam started in the United States of America.

Fallacy No.3: They are not scam because they have their own HUGE building.
They owned a 100,000 square feet building at Plano, Texas. Why do they need such huge building for this type of business? I have no idea. But, for a billion dollar scam, a 100,000 square feet, it's not a big deal.

Fallacy No.4: They are not scam because many have made their money.
How many is many? Less than 1%, 5% or 10%. Definitely there are so many of them never made their money.

Fallacy No.5: They are not scam because they have Mastercard as their debit card partner.
To have Mastercard as their debit card partner is not a big deal. If the company have the money and linked to an account. I have seen a much smaller company in Malaysia having a debit card as well. Furthermore the debit card is provided by Global E-Wallet not directly by WorldVenture.

Fallacy No.6: They are not scam because they have Magellan awards and they are the best.
Magellan Award have so many sub-categories.

The possibility with a good entry to win at least a Silver is very high.
You won't be finding Agoda.com or Booking.com. It doesn't mean they are worse than the rest. The Magellan Award is entry based. If you want to win, you need to enter. If they don't care or feel that award is nothing special, they won't enter.
Btw, click here for past award winners, https://www.travelweeklyawards.com/winners/

Fallacy No.7: They are not scam because they are the fastest growing MLM company with hundreds of thousands of members.
Scams grows very fast as well. Just because hundreds of thousand have joined doesn't mean it's not a scam. Many joined due to herd mentality. Even I joined it on false hope. Now I realised it, I made a mistake.

Fallacy No.8: They are not scam because they are Top 50 MLM companies in the world.
Again, Madoff scam was the best fund in the world. Every banks, retirement funds and investors were investing in it.

Fallacy No.9: They are not scam because many celebrities joined them as well.
Celebrities are humans just like you and I. They not business people or investors or financially advanced people. They have the people's skill, so some of them succeeded.

Fallacy No.10: They are not scam because their founders are Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year nominee.
They say that Ernst & Young would have done a thorough  investigation before they are nominated. People, it's an entrepreneur award, not "Are you hiding something behind or not?" award. From the surface, the business does look like a great business. The idea behind it is great, but the execution is a scam. That's all.Ernst & Young never did an investigation as that is not their entry requirement. Most likely the entry would have been made by the founder themselves to get nominated as finalist.

#3. They claimed Warren Buffett and Tony Robbins joined WorldVentures
This is the biggest lie in their presentation slides. It's actually some photo where the founder of WorldVentures with Warren Buffett and another with Tony Robbins. Those who have been to trainings and some conventions, if you had bought VIP tickets, you can snap photos with them and do whatever claim later on. That's how many trainers increase their rapport. In fact the slides are done smartly. There are no written text claiming they are, which opens to the presenter to do whatever claims. If someone tries to dispute it, they'll claim the presenter made mistake and not the responsibility of the company.

#2. They changed their policies without notifying their members
Continuation from #4 above on the email. After several days, I received this email as their reply. I wasn't expecting it as I have already received their auto-reply asking me to submit refund claim online.

Any price difference of under USD 5 will not awarded the promised 150%. It's a red flag. They might have informed those members who joined before September 30, 2014, but don't the uplines have the responsibility to inform this to all the members. That's when I lost any hope with WorldVentures.

#1. The binary system.
I never trusted the binary system. I thought they had made it to work properly as the product itself should generate incomes for the company. I hoped they do, but I was wrong.
They do gives you back  Dreamtrips Point, but you need to complete 1 year in order to get them all. Why the delay? Only possible answer is, they want to get your money first and get you locked down. Same like most scam or Ponzi scheme, they'll use time factor to play around with the cash flow. They can't give you those points every month because that's the money they use to pay those leaders. If they gives the point to you immediately, they won't able to rotate the money.
I can prove this by calculation. I'll create a video to show how it works very soon.

There are many other blogs which calls WorldVenture as a scam, but I find a lot of fallacy or half baked statements in them. So far, this is the most reliable source by and ex-WorldVenture leader, http://blog.rdptechs.net/2013/06/20/worldventures-scam/

So, why did I join in the first place? I was blinded by my beautiful upline. I sort of like her. Lol.:p
